The three main causes of tribal movement in India are:
1. Various forest acts: In order to develop railways and to control the tribal groups easily, the British government took control of the forests and declared those forests as Reserved Forests for they produced timber. Tribes they were banned to enter the reserved forests.
2. Created a disturbance to the traditional tribal systems: The traditional tribal land systems was marked by the corporal ownership and nonexistence of the landlords. The British replaced the traditional land system of tribal people with an unknown class of zamindars in the tribal areas.
3. Induction to the idea of private property: Under this scheme, land could be sold, bought or mortgaged which led to a decline of land possessed by the tribal people.
