Hey mate

Here is ur answer

Indian is a quasi-federal polity. The features of federalism in India are:

1) Sharing of power between the central government and states

2) Sharing of the areas of legislations among the Centre and states, i.e. Union List, State List and the Concurrent List

3) Independence of Judiciary

4) Separation of powers between the executive, legilature and the judiciary

5) Well defined sources of revenue and taxation system.

These all makes India a federal country.

Hey dude,

❦Soon after independence, several princely states became a part of the country.

❦The Constitution declared India as a Union of States.

❦Although it did not use the word federation, the Indian Union is based on the principles of federalism.

❦The Constitution originally provided for a two-tier system of government, the Union government or Central government, representing the Union of India and the State governments.

❦Later, a third tier of ‘Panchayati Raj’ or local government was added.
