ANSWER :

Phenomenon that Explain the Universal law of Gravitation :

  • Motion of celestial bodies as, Moon goes round the Earth and Earth  goes round the Sun, other planets goes round the Sun; all are due to the Gravitation.

  • The generation of High and low Tides due to the Moon is also caused due to Gravitation.

  • Gravitation is the Force which binds us to the Earth and explains why we are able to stand still on Earth's surface while Earth is rotating continuously.

  • When an object is thrown in upward direction from the Earth's surface, then it goes to a certain height and then tends to ground or we can say is attracted back to the Earth's surface, this is due to the gravity.

  • Gravity is the cause for why the Earth is able to hold its atmosphere. Earth's atmosphere that is made of many layers of thin gases which surrounds the planet is retained due to Gravitation.

What is the Universal law of gravitation :

  • The universal Law of gravitation states that Every body in the universe attracts every other body, with a force that is directly proportional to the their masses and inversely proportional to the square of distance between the bodies.

Equation for Universal gravitation is given by :

  • F = G M₁ M₂ / R²

[ where F is the gravitational force between the two bodies of masses M₁ and M₂ ; R is the distance between the bodies and G is universal gravitational constant ]
