One of the most visible difference between the ancient buildings and the modern ones is the use of materials. In the older times, stone and its derivatives were the basic or should I say the only material used. ... Ancient architecture - it contain domes, stump pillars (huge), minarets and there shape at top was in shape of cone. They are made up of mud and clay. They were not strong

Modern - you know very well. We at today has big huge buildings in which space is effectively used. The are made up of bricks. They are strong.
