1) To maintain order in the House.
2) Right to suspend the members if they disregard the authority of the chair.
3) The speaker is given the right to decide whether a member of the lok sabha stands disqualified under the anti-deflection law.
4) The Speaker has power to suspend its meeting in the absence of one-tenth of the members of the House.
