The most important lesson learnt from both epics – ‘Ramayana’ and ‘Mahabharata’ is that Good wins over Bad/Evil.
Bad company can ruin one’s life as in the case of Sakuni Mama in Mahabharata.
Ramayana also taught the difference between good and evil. Bharat is a good example for this. When he learnt that his mother was responsible for Ram’s banishment from Ayodhya, he went to his brother , brought his footwear , kept that on the throne and ruled on Ayondhya on Ram’s behalf.
Unconditional love and support , and loyal friends help a great deal – as it happened with Pandavas who had Krishna’s support and even Kauravas who had the support of Karna.
Love and respect for parents depicted in Ramayana by Ram by willingly choosing to spend 14 years in exile in a forest to fulfil the promise made by his father Dashrath to Kaikeyi.
Life is a learner and learning throughout life is the best gift one can give oneself. Arjun is a great example in this. He learnt from Dronacharya, Krishna, Yudhister, Indra, and wherever he got a chance to learn from someone.
Ramayana gives the best example of sibling relationship which is manifested by Lakshman when he joined Rama in exile.
