Nepal enjoyed a democratic session since 1990,after that king Birendra was the king of Nepal who changed the absolute monarchy to constitutional monarchy.After sometime King Birendra was killed in an incident by his own family Gyanendra became the new king of Nepal.He changed the Nepal's outlook from constitutional monarchy to complete dictatorship there was no democracy.People were unhappy about his decision and a large of number of people gathered everyday on the street for fulfill his demands.
Demands of the people were:-
- Re-establishment of democracy in Nepal.
- To take away king's powers
- To ensure the dignity of the people.
- A new constitution and a new constituent assembly.
This protests went on for several days (approx 4 days) after that the demand of the people have to be fulfilled and the king 's powers were taken. SPA(seven party alliance)chose a new candidate Girija Prasad Koirala as the new PM of nepal and restoration of democracy in the nepal.
