communalism can take many forms in politics :
1. The most common expression is every day beliefs. This involves religious prejudice of religious communities and belief that one religion is superior to other.
2.A communal mind can lead to political dominance of one religion. in this majority community takes the form of majoritarian.For the minority it can take the form of desire to form a separate political unit.
3.somtimes communalism can take most ugly form of communal violence riots and massacre. India and Pakistan support some of the most communal riots at the time of the partition .
Solutions provided by the Indian Constitution makers to face the challenges :
1. there is no official language for Indian state .I like the status of Buddhism in Sri Lanka that of Islam in Pakistan and that of Christianity in England, our constitution does not give special status to any religion.
2.the constitution provides to all individuals and communities freedom to process, propagate and practice any religion or ,not to follow any.
3.the constitution prohibits discrimination on Grounds of religion.
