Answers
Any two discriminatory acts passed by the British Government in India are:-
1. Rowlatt Act - The Rowlatt Act was passed in 1919. It was hurriedly passed through the imperial legislative assembly despite the unanimous opposition of the Indian members. It gave enormous powers to the colonial government to repress Indian nationalist political activities and detain Indian political prisoners without trial for upto two years.
2. Vernacular Press Act - It was passed in 1878 and was modelled on the Irish Press Laws. This Act allowed the government to keep an eye on the various newspapers and periodicals published in the country. If a report was judged as seditious, the press was given a warning. If the warning was ignored, then the press was liable to be seized and printing machinery confiscated by the colonial government.
