Subsistence agriculture -
1)Subsistence agriculture is carried out using the family labour resource and the use of primitive tools like sickle, doe,hoe,etc.
2) The agriculture depends upon the natural fertility of the soil and irrigation is dependent upon monsoon.
3) Shifting cultivation or Slash and burn agriculture is a part of subsistence farming in which a patch of land is burnt and cultivated. When the loses its fertility, people move to another patch of land.
4) This farming allows the soil to gain its natural fertility.
5) Use of chemical fertilizers is limited and manure is used to increase fertility of the soil.
