1. Animal cells and plant cells share the common components of a nucleus, cytoplasm, mitochondria and a cell membrane. But , plant cells have three extra components, a vacuole, chloroplast and a cell wall.

2. Plant cells contain chloroplasts since they need to perform photosynthesis, but animal cells do not.

3. Plant cells have plastids whereas animal cells do not have plastids.

4. The plant cell can also be larger than the animal cell.
