Mention different methods of transport of material throgh plasma membrane.

What is endosmosis,exosmosis.
What is isotonic , hypotonic, hypertoni solutions
What happens if cell is kept in hypotonic solution

Answer:

Explanation:

  1. The passive forms of transport, diffusion and osmosis, move materials of small molecular weight across membranes. Substances diffuse from areas of high concentration to areas of lower concentration; this process continues until the substance is evenly distributed in a system.
  2. Exosmosis occurs if the cells are in hypertonic solutions due to which the cells shrink. In isotonic solutions, no exosmosis or endosmosis takes place. ... Therefore, the concentration of the solute in the solution surrounding the cell is less than the solute concentration in the cytoplasm.
  3. When kept in hypotonic solution, the cell will swell and become turgid. Because the water potential outside the cell will be lesser than that of inside the cell. So water will flow from out of the cell to inside of the cell.
