The different soils present in India are....
1. Alluvial soil -abundantly found in northern plains
2. Black soil -it is mostly used for growing cotton crop as it is clayey and hold water...mainly found in Gujarat Maharashtra etc
3. Red soil-The red soils are mostly loamy and hence cannot retain water like the black soils.
4. Laterite soil-Laterite or lateritic soil remains one of the best natural materials to be used in compressed earth bricks,
5. Mountain soil - It is used for step farming.
6. Forest soil- Many various types of crops like tea coffee are grown in this soils
