•Single issue movement - A Single issue movement focuses on a single issue that seeks to achieve a single objective within a limited time period.

For example – Narmada Bachao Andolan began in response to the construction of the Sardar Sarovar Dam that displaced a no. of people.

•Long-term movement - A long-term movement focuses on various aspects and involves more than one issue, unlike singleissue movements.

For example - the women's movement and various environment-related movements that came up in response to the various questions raised in society.
