1.Core is the innermost layer of the Earth with a radius of about 3500 km. It is mainly made up of nickel and iron and is therefore

called nife (ni – nickel and fe – ferrous i.e. iron).

2.Unlike mantle it is in solid state due to very high temperature and pressure.
