Area of cross section may not be uniform along the wire length.

Unavailability of thick connecting wires at the time of the experiment.

Reading error may arise while reading the pointers of ammeter and voltmeter.

There may be a possibility that a rheostat with a high resistance is used.


Current may be allowed for a long time leading to a heating effect.

The terminal screw of the instrument may not be tied up properly.
