Mahmud of Ghazni invaded India total 17 times.

He took the name Sultan, and sat at throne at the age of 27.

As constant invasion increased, India was drained of wealth and it became lower in rank in both economic and political power.

Places like Kanauj and Mathura were transformed into ruins.

It led to the foundation of the larger Turkish rule in India.
