Explanation:

Physical Properties of Alkenes. Alkenes contains a carbon-carbon double bond. ... At room temperatue, alkenes exist in all three phases, solid, liquids, and gases. Melting and boiling points of alkenes are similar to that of alkanes, however, isomers of cis alkenes have lower melting points than that of trans isomers.

Answer : -

Physical properties of alkenes : Alkenes resemble alkanes in some of their physical properties.

(1) First three alkenes, Ethylene, propylene and a-butylene are gases. Next few members are liquids. Higher members are solids.

(2) Except ethylene, all other alkenes are colourless and odourless. Ethylene is a colourless gas with sicki sweet odour.

(3) They are insoluble in water but quite soluble in organic solvents like benzene, ether, chloroform, etc.

(4) Boiling point of alkenes increase with increase in molecular mass. A rise of 20 to 30 degree is observed each added carbon atom.

(5) As in alkanes, alkenes with branching lowers boiling points.
