The civilization of Ancient Rome had a lasting legacy in western culture in areas such as government, law, language, architecture, engineering, and religion. The influence of Roman law on modern legal systems has been immense. Roman Law have great significance in regard to the formation of uniform legal rules which further the process of political integration in Europe. Roman Law is the common foundation upon which the European legal order is built.
