International Code of Botanical Nomenclature (ICBN) made the following change in the recent Melbourne Congress:
- The nomenclature section accepted the proposal to add bold words and also accepted a number of corollary proposals.
- The previous rule that the description of the species should be provided in Latin is modified. Now the description can be given either English or Latin.
- Previously there were different name for different fungus. Now the nomenclature has accepted the rule that one fungus – one name and one fossil – one name.
