The conditions when Louis XI ascended the throne were not quite good. The full treasury was empty because France helped 13 American colonies to get independence from their common enemy Britain. Also, The Country of France was in the debt of 1 Billion Francs which later became 2 Billion.
So
In order to face all these situations Louis immediately after becoming King Increased the taxes which were opposed so much and later lead to French Revolution.
