Answer:

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Question:-

Mention the consequence of deforestation.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Answer :-

Deforestation has a greatly negative impact on the environment. It disturbs the natural ecological balance. The most negative effect of deforestation is the loss of habitat for large number of spices. Forests also serve as a home for rare animal and plant .

Apart from these general effects, there are several other losses caused by deforestation .

1. Deforestation is one of the major contributing factors for global warming. As the level of carbon dioxide constinuously increases in the atmosphere due to excessive cutting down of trees, global warming increases perpetually.

2. Deforestation also impacts the climate by increasing the ambient temperature and decreasing the rainfall. Gradually, it lead to droughts.

3. Deforestation contributes in soil erosion, for in the absence of vegetation, the uppermost layer of the soil become loose, leading to erosion of soil in fast current of water or air .

4. Deforestation results in this desertification in which the fertile and gradually get converted into deserts. Desertification happens as a result of soil erosion. Fast current of water and soil, wipe away the top fertile layer of soil, exposing the lower less fertile and rocky layer and thus, the fertile lands get converted into deserts.

5. It increases the risk of natural calamities like droughts and floods .
