The defects that can be present in a beam balance used in the market, are as follows -

• The lengths of the arms can be different which is a very common defect in the beam balance used in the markets. This can easily produce highly inaccurate measurements.

• The magnets can be used under the beam balance to illegally produce wrong measurements.

• There are high chances that the beam balance is not calibrated. Because,we need an ideal condition to perfectly calibrate a beam balance, and that ideal condition is absent in the market environment.
