The difference between Gandhian and British ways of dealing with satyagraha was:
- Gandhian way of dealing with Satyagraha: Satyagraha means ' holding into the truth'. It didn't include violence. Mahatma Gandhi was the one who started satyagraha. He openly supported satyagraha. The first satyagraha (protest) occurred at Champaran in 1917 with his support.
- The British way of dealing with satyagraha- Britishers didn't like the idea of satyagraha. They understood that this is the first step of their departure from India. To deal with it they became crueler. They passed the Rowlett act and did the Jalianwala Bagh Massacre. They called the Simon commission And made harsher and strict rules. They tried to crush the voice of Indians.
