The nightmare start for parents, months before the schools reopen. For several parents, it is important that the school has excellent facilities and a good transport system— the exit from a good school is, after all, a ticket to success.
• Schools with a trade tag attached to them cannot be approached in normal channels and money, influence, and status are the primary criteria for admission. The managers, correspondents and officials responsible for processing applications during the admission season are usually un-politicized, if not quite rude.
• They make parents call several times before they give their yes or no reaction. In the metropolitan cities and industrial towns, admission problems are more prevalent. For students getting choice of their group/subjects are difficult. Despite marks with the increasing competition, admissions are getting tougher even otherwise. Especially is students need to change schools for various reasons, admission to XI becomes even more challenging.
