The dissimilarity of properties of hydrogen with group 1 element is

•Hydrogen is a gas in nature at room temperature where as group 1 element or alkali metals are solid at room temperature.

The dissimilarity of properties of hydrogen with group 17 is

•The elements of group 17 which are known to us as halogen has 7 electron in the valence shell while hydrogen has only one electron in valence shell

• The electronic configuration of hydrogen is totally different than group 17 ,the electronic configuration of Hydrogen is H= 1S2 and the electronic configuration of halogen or group 17 is nS2,nS5(where n=1,2,3,4....)
