✨Materials required:

1) Castor oil( or cotton seed or linsee)

2)20% NaOH sollution.

3) Common salt.

4)hard glass beaker

5)moulds of desired shapes brown freeze paper.

by mixing vegetable oil and NaOH sollution in proper ratio and heating mixture followed by proper cooling we can get soap.

✨ Testing the nature of the soap:

it turns red litmus to blue hence it is

Soap in laboratory can be formed through Saponification Reaction which involves conversion of oil into soap through heat in an alkali medium

It requires the following materials:-

1. Oil

2. Sodium Hydroxide Solution

3. Beaker

4. Bunsen Burner

5. Tripod Stand

6. Wire Gauze

7. Common Salt

8. Red Litmus Paper

9. Common Salt

When the Oil and the Sodium Hydroxide solution are heated together, following reaction takes place:-

Oil + NaOH ----> Soap + Glycerin

The nature of the reaction can be checked by dipping the red litmus paper in the solution. It changes to blue concluding that the reaction is basic in nature.
