The Bastille was a fortress built in the late 1300s to protect Paris during the Hundred Years' War. By the late 1700s, the Bastille was mostly used as a state prison by King Louis XVI.

I know I answered this late (Sorry I started using brainly like 4 days ago) but I'll answer it for users who would like to know the answer in the future as the first answer seems incomplete

The causes that led to the storming of Bastille are:-

1)The Third Estate's demand for more of a say in the Estate General Assembly was rejected by King Louis XVI

2)They were afraid that they would be attacked by the French army as they were against the King

3)There were rumours that the Bastille was full of political prisoners

4)The Bastille symbolized the despotic power of the King and was hated by the Third Estates.
