Location of Nectaries :
Generally, nectaries are free to grow and flourish in any part of the plant, but maximum number of nectaries are situated in the flower of plants. They are also called Floral nectaries. The location of nectaries depends upon the species of the flowers. According to the species, nectaries can be situated on it's sepal, thalamus, pistils, ovaries, stamens, or it can be located on any other part of the flower.
Important whorls of a flower :
- Androecium or gynoecium are considered as significant or reproductive whorls of a flower.
- The whorl Androecium initiates the production of pollen grains that consists of male gametes and gynoecium is involved in the production of ovules which is referred as female gametes.
- Bisexual flowers consists of both the reproductive whorls whereas unisexual flowers contains either androecium or gynoecium whorl.
- Each individual member belonging to androecium whorl is referred as Stamen which contains anther of filament.
- Anther initiates the production of pollen grains.
- The individual member belonging to gynoecium whorl is considered as pistil which contain style, ovary, and stigma.
