Executive powers of President

1.The President appoints several important officers such as Prime Minister ,Governors of the States,Judges of the Supreme and High courts,foreign ambassadors,etc.
2.He calls the joint meeting of both the houses, appoints the officers and employees of the Supreme Court and form laws related to the powers of Auditor General Of India
3.He appoints ambassadors and diplomats for Indian embassy situated abroad and he is one who accepts the certificates of the ambassadors from abroad. Foreign agreements are also made in the name of President.
4.The President of India is the Supreme Commander of all the forces,but he can use this right in accordance to laws only.

Legislative Powers

1.He calls the session of the Parliament and declares its conclusion. He can dissolve the Lok Sabha before its tenure..
2.The President has the power to nominate 12 members of the Rajya Sabha. He nominates 2 Anglo Indian members In the Lok Sabha.
3.The President can accept or reject a motion as per his discretion. He may return a normal bill along with some advice for reconsideration in the Parliament.
4.The President has the power to issue ordinances when the Parliament session is not in progress. These ordinances are valid for six months after the start of the Parliament session. But if the President wishes,these ordinances can be abolished even before the completion. of their tenure.
