environmental factors affecting transpiration in plants include light, relative humidity, temperature, availability of water and wind. specifically, these are climatic elements which also affects photosynthesis and other plant growth and development process . in general, plants transpire fastest under the following climatic conditions:(a) bright day, (b)dry air, (c)moist soil, (d)warm temperature (e)windy day

The following are the external factors that affects transpiration :

1. Light

When light is not present, the stomata does not open.

Light of colors blue and red are very effective in the transpiration process.

2. Relative humidity

When the atmosphere is of humid type then high relative humidity takes place. So, at that time the transpiration rate gets decreased.

3. Temperature

When the temperature is high then the transpiration rate also becomes more.
