Hi mate.

There are multiple factors that lead to greater agricultural production..

1. Soil- the most important factor on which agriculture is dependent. A good soil rich in nutrients like potash. Phosphorus etc and rich in humus content is the most suitable type of soil.

2. Temperature- high temperature means there will be less humus content in soil due to the destruction of microorganisms. Ex- laterite soil in india.

3. Irrigation- this can be best explained with an example from india. In Rajasthan farmers are now able to grow many crops due to available of water from the indira gandhi canal . this has led to the improvements irrigation due to their is an increase in cropproduction

However irrigation can also be destructive due to intense leaching as in punjab.

4. Government policies.-

What if government does not support the farmers. ? Government policies are also essential for agriculture.
