The heart is a vital organ that pumps blood to all parts of the body. The heart consists of four chambers : two atria and two ventricles namely right atrium, right ventricle, left atrium and left ventricle.

The right atrium receives deoxygenated blood from superior and inferior vena cava and pumps it to right ventricle.

The right ventricle  receives deoxygenated blood from the right atrium and pumps it to the lungs.

The left atrium receives oxygenated blood from the lungs through pulmonary veins and pumps it to the left ventricle.

The left ventricle receives oxygenated blood from the left atrium and circulates it to the body.
