(i) SEED COAT : It is the outer most covering of the seed. It protects the delicate inner parts of the seeds from injury & the attack of bacteria and fungi and even insects.
(ii) COTYLEDONS : They provide the seed with the food materials for the nourishment of the embryo during germination (Contains mainly starch).
