Explanation:

The desert biome is an ecosystem created every year due to the low rainfall rate it receives. About 20 percent of the Earth's deserts cover. This biome includes four main desert forms-hot and dry, semi-arid, marine, and cold. We can all share the life of plants and animals that can live there.

The characteristics are -

- The climate of the desert is very hot and dry. Not many plants and animals will live, but those that do adapt to the conditions of torture, whereas it cools down to very cold temperatures at night.

- Generally deserts are located in areas near to the equator.

- There is an overall high evaporation rate. with a little rainfall which is less than 50cm per year.

- There are coarse-textured soils.

- There is a drought-resistant vegetation.

  • The ecosystem, where very less or no rainfall occurs, it is called as desert biome.  
  • If desert biome is compared with the forest, it is receiving less than 300 mm rainfall in a year that is too much less because 2000 mm rainfall happens in forest.
  • Temperature of desert biomes has reached an average of 38 degree Celsius in daytime and -4 degree Celsius in night time.
  • Desert biome is the dry most terrestrial biome available on one-fifth of the Earth.
