it is a well known fact that the earth’s crust is made of several layers.

Total depth of the crust ranges from 5km to 70km.

Continental crust is not more than 60km thick while ocean crust spans across 5km.

Mantle sits right at the top of the outer core and is also regarded as the second layer of the earth.

Mantles is separated into two parts namely Lithosphere and asthenosphere.

Inner core is the thinnest layers of the earth and at the longest distance from the earth’s surface.

Answer:

Crust, Mantle and Core

Explanation:

The structure of the earth’s interior is divided into three layers namely the crust, the mantle, the core.

  • Crust is the outer layer of the earth, where we live. The major elements of crust are silica (Si) and aluminium (Al). Hence it is named as SIAL.

  • Mantle is the intereior part beneath the crust. The major elements of the mantle are silica (Si) and magnesium (Mg). Hence it is called SIMA.

  • The core is the innermost and hottest layer of the earth. It is composed mainly of nickel (Ni) and iron (Fe). Hence it is called NIFE.

I hope it will help you.
