limitations of dimensions analysis:

  • this method does not give any information about the dimensionless constant k
  • it feels when a physical quantity depends on more than three physical quantities.
  • it feels to derive relationship which involves logarithmic , exponential in function and trigonometric functions.

Answer:

Limitations of dimensional analysis are :

Explanation:

  • If the dimensions are given physical quantity may not be unique for example work energy and torque all have the same dimensional formula

  • numerical constants cannot be deduced by the method of dimensions

  • the method of dimensions cannot be used to describe relations other than the product of power function

  • the method of dimensions can be applied to derive the formula if in mechanics of physical quantity depends upon more than three physical quantities because a nose be more than equations however correctness can be checked

  • even if a physical quantity depends upon three physical quantities out of waste to have the same dimensions formula cannot be determined by the theory of dimensions for example the frequency of A tuning fork cannot be derived it can be checked for correctness
