the early vedic period is also known as rigvedic period, as the question suggest, according to varna system there was no difference between categories, caste was nothing at this time, only categories were made according to peoples occupation and work, for example if someone is teacher or saint then he will be called brahman, if someone is soldier or protector then they will be kshatriya, someone who does small businesses were called vaishya, and the oone category that used to work in under of these three was the shudra community,
