1)-It is the second largest peninsular river. (2)-It form estuary with narmada. (3)-It flows in a rift valley parallel to narmada but it is too shorter in length. ⏩ The Coastal Plains between Western Ghats and the Arabian Sea are very narrow, and therefore, the coastal rivers are short.

The river Tapi originates in Betul district in Madhya Pradesh. It originates from the Satpura ranges and flows westward into the Arabian Sea. It flows in a rift valley parallel to the Narmada but has a much shorter course. Another reason for the short course of the Tapi is that the western coastal plains the land between the Western Ghats and the Arabian Sea, is very narrow. The Tapi basin covers parts of Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat.
