Under Consumer Protection Act ,1986 (COPRA):
1. A three tier quasi judicial (a non- judicial body which can interpret law) machinery was set up at district, state and national level to solve consumer disputes.
2. Any consumer can file a case against any unfair games practiced with them in marketplace.If a case is dismissed in district level court, the consumer can also appeal in state and national level court.
3.This act enabled consumers to have the right to represent in the consumer courts.
