Function of each part of brain :

i. Cerebrum:

  • It is a part of forebrain.
  • It is associated with memory, intelligence, sensations like pain, touch, etc and activities of voluntary as well as involuntary muscles.

ii. Cerebellum:

  • It is a part of hind brain.
  • It is involved in the coordination of muscular body movements and posture and equilibrium maintenance.

iii. Medulla oblongata:

  • Posterior most part of brain.
  • It possess the "cardiac, respiratory and vasomotor" centers that control complex activities such as heart action, respiration, respiration, coughing, etc.

iv. Hypothalamus:

  • Located below the thalamus
  • Apart from hormonal secretion, it is involved in the regulation of body temperature, thirst, hunger, etc.
