there are three parts of the flagella ==>
(1) filamen (2) basal body (3) hook
(1)the filament is the longest portion and extends from the cell surface to the outside .
(2) hook is joint between basal body and filament.
(3) basal body is a rod and a system of rings embedded in the cell envelope.
