Brain is divided into 3 parts namely :
a.Fore brain
b.Mid brain
c.Hind brain

Fore brain:
Fore brain consists of :Olfactory lobes,Cerebrum and Diencephalon.
Olfactory lobes:
Detects and receives smell.
Cerebrum:
Cerebrum is divided into 4 lobes namely:
a.Frontal lobe:It is the centre for analyzing,remembering,understanding and thinking.
b.Parietal lobe:
It is the centre for perception of touch .
c.Occipital lobe:It is the centre for perception of vision.
d.Temporal lobe:It is the centre for detection of smell and sound.
Diencephalon:
It is divided into 2 parts namely:
a.Hypothalamus:It helps in releasing hormones and maintaining body temperature.
b.Thalamus:Relay motor and sensory signals to cerebral cortex.

Mid brain:
It is divided into Cerebral peduncle and Corpora quadrigemina.
Functions :
1.A auditory and visual processing.
2.Motor movement.
3.Acts as a relay centre between fore brain and hind brain.

Hind brain:
It is divided into 3 parts namely:
a.Pons varolli:Controls respiration.
b.Medulla oblongata:Controls involuntary actions,internal organs and controls BP.
C.Cerebellum:Maintains body posture.
