• History is classified into three eras,  ancient , post classical and modern history.
• Ancient history (6000 BCE-650 CE)- scientists found the earliest remains it includes bronze age, iron age , history of mesopotamia, indus valley civilization, old kingdom, vedic period, shang and zou dynasty,mahajanpadas, classical india etc.
• Post classical history( 500-1500)- refers to the medieval period  or for Europe, the middle  ages, begins around 500CE after fall of major civilizations, covering the advent of Islam.
• Modern history ( 1500-1750)- covers human history from the early modern period , it started with the invention of the printing press covering the voyage of  christopher columbus.
• history also includes late modern period(1750-1945) and contemporary period (1945-present).
