Sometimes a certain common name is not enough to indicate the particular species. In science, people from different languages have to read about each other's research work. So, it was found necessary to eliminate any possible confusion in using local names by substituting them with names specially given in scientific language. This method of naming the organisms is called the binomial nomenclature and was first introduced by Carl Linnaeus (1707-1778).

local names vary from place to place. So,it becomes difficult for people speaking or writing in different language to know and understand if they are talking or discussing about the same organism.
This problem was resolved by using internationally accepted scientific name for organism known as Binomial Nomenclature.
Carolus Linnaeus has introduced above solution.
Hope this above answer helps you!
