Mention the reasons for the discontent among the Indian sepoy

Sepoys were actually considered as peasants in uniform.Most of the sepoys were belong to UP and Bihar region and after the annexation of Oudh by british on the basis of maladministration of that region, discontentment among sepoys is quite natural. However there are other reason also like discrimination with sepoys, they were paid low wages and faced constant and verbal &  physical abuse from their bosses, allowances/ batta is also one of the reasons. They were also forbade to put caste marks on their foreheads and not allow to wear turbans.
