The relation amongst hydrolysis constant of the salt, disassociation constant and ionic product of water is:

Hydrolysis constant of the salt will be –

B+ + H2O gives BOH + H+

Kh = [H+][BOH]/[B+][H2O]

Kh = [H+][BOH]/[B+]

Kw = [H+][OH-]

BOH will give B+ + OH-

Dissociation constant, Kb = [B+][OH-]/[BOH]

Hence,

Kw/kb = [H+][BOH]/[B+] = kh

Kw/kb = kh
