Answer:  The ozone layer is the layer of ozone in the lower part of the strartosphere. The ozone layer plays a vital role in the atmosphere.

Explanation: The role of the ozone layer is to absorbs harmful UV (UltraViolet) rays coming from the sun which can cause skin cancer. The ozone layer is being destroyed by the release of CFC (ChloroFluroCarbon) into the atmosphere. This CFC gas is mostly found in the refridgerators, home insulation, plastic foam and throaway food countainers. Jet plane and aeroplanes that fly in the stratosphere also releases CFC gas.
