Scheduled Tribes - 51% are below poverty line. Casual workers in urban areas - 50% are below poverty line. Landless agriculture groups - nearly 50% are below poverty line.

Government of India is determined to eradicate poverty from its basic roots. It has introduced following plans in this regarding:

• NATIONAL RURAL EMPLOYMENT GUARANTEE ACT 2005 (NREGA):assuring 100 days of employment to every poor rural households, it will help in assuring daily needs like food grains to everyone in the rural sectors.
• PRIME MINISTER ROZGAR YOJANA : It was an another scheme launched by government of India. It helps to make self employment opportunities for educated unemployed citizens.
• PRADHAN MANTARI GRAMODAYA YOJANA : Launched in year of 2000. Its aim is to provide basic needs to poor households in primary health,primary education, safe drinking water,primary shelter,and rural electrification.
