The three types of stability are:
- Stable equilibrium: When the object or body tries to move in initial place and return to its original position then its know as stable equilibrium.
- for example: hanging of pendulum in downward direction.
2. Unstable equilibrium: When the objects tend to push itself in the further direction towards the equilibrium and make the further changes in the position then its is known as unstable equilibrium.
- For example: moving of the marble. from top surface.
3. Metastable equilibrium: When the object tries to move from its position and making the distance in the position not that much but affect the displacement then its is known as metastable equilibrium.
- For example: long as the marble is in meta-stable equilibrium and it doesn’t move outside the dip in the center.
